Terms & Conditions
Last updated: Draft
Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using Credensy, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
The zero-knowledge trade-off
Credensy is designed so that your vault contents are encrypted on your device before they reach our servers, using a key derived from your master password. This means:
- We cannot see, recover, or reset the contents of your vault.
- If you lose both your master password and your Recovery Key, your vault data is permanently and unrecoverably lost. We have no support-side backdoor and cannot restore it for you.
- You are responsible for safely storing your Recovery Key.
Your account
You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your master password and Recovery Key, and for all activity that occurs on devices you've authorized. You should revoke any device you no longer recognize or use from your Devices page.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Credensy to store or transmit unlawful content, to attempt to breach or disrupt the service, or to use the service in a way that violates applicable law.
Service availability
We aim to keep Credensy available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We'll aim to give notice of planned maintenance where practical.
Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe pose a security risk to the service or other users.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Credensy after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
